Should have:
o
3+ years in
software testing out of which some experience has to be with product
testing.
o
Good
understanding of Desktop / Web based applications architecture &
testing.
o
Manual test execution skills including, functional,
integration, system, regression testing.
o
Good
understanding of automation. Should have handled/worked on automation projects.
o
Experience with one of
the automated testing tool (WinRunner, QA Wizard, LoadRunner, Rational Robot,
Test Director, VSTS, QTP, etc.) is a
plus.
o
Good
communication skills.
o
Should have
previously managed Leads/Assoc .
o
Has good
understanding of software metrics and should have implemented it in the
projects.
o
Should be
able to contribute ideas for improving test coverage, quality and team
productivity.
Position requires person to be hands
on with the following requirements (it is a testing role with managing
capabilities):

Roles & responsibilities:
o
Should be
able to guide the team members functionally &
technically.
o
Should be
able to contribute ideas for improving test coverage, quality and team
productivity.
o
Should
understand the requirements fully and initiate discussions with concerned people
to seek clarifications on unclear/unspecified
requirements.
o
Should do
the impact analysis of the changed
requirements.
o
Should be
doing test planning which includes tasks assigned to the team as well as
independent testing assignments.
o
Defect
management which includes logging, reviewing bugs & expediting the bug
fixing.
o
Should be
able to setup & maintain the test environment and doing trouble shooting
when required.
o
Should be
able to design / understand Test strategy and create test cases and test data
accordingly.
o
Maintaining
and keeping up to date, all the testing related
documents.
o
Tracking
the progress of self & team members (for all the ongoing
projects).
o
Should be
able to identify and suggest areas for test
automation.
o
Preparing and Tracking Bug Reports.
o
Proactively
get the tests executed rather than “waiting for things to happen”
approach.
o
Co-ordinates with Support / Developers to minimize
the time required in processing modifications.
o
Documents and communicates common bugs / mistakes
found during testing to all the programmers in general.
o
Prepare and maintain testing manual for various
projects.
S/he will be reporting to the
Software development Manager.
